Responsibilities
*The Second Assistant Superintendent assists in planning and supervising the daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, sand traps and landscaped areas.
*Schedules work, assists with personal management, evaluation and personal discipline.
*Trains employees in the proper use and preventative maintenance of equipment.
*Performs pesticide and fertilizer applications as directed by the Superintendent.
*Assists with course renovation projects.
*Supervise and perform general maintenance tasks such as mowing, blowing, aerification and course set up.
*Assists with keeping maintenance facility clean and organized.
*Assists with tree and debris removal.
*Other duties as assigned by the 1st Assistant or Superintendent.
Experience
*At least 3-5 years of golf course maintenance experience.
*Working knowledge of turfgrass management practices including aeration and pesticide/fertilizer applications.
*Experience operating and maintaining golf course maintenance equipment including pesticide and fertilizer application equipment.
*Previous supervisory experience preferred.
*Strong communication skills required.
*Must have a valid driver’s license.
